Next generation remote access routers with LAN, WiFi, and 3G

During SPS IPC Drives, eWON unveiled the new eWON Cosy 131, a range of industrial VPN remote access routers with LAN, WiFi, and 3G+ connection options. With eWON Cosy, machine builders and OEMs can access machines PLC and HMI, and troubleshoot them from the comfort of the office! eWON Cosy 131 complements the existing eWON Cosy 141 with new features as WiFi and 3G (no need to use the LAN anymore), a USB port for additional serial devices connectivity, a SD card reader for an easier on-site configuration, and a configurable switch LAN/WAN 4 ports.More than ever, all industrial equipment users demand for a 24/7 continuous production, and increased uptime and reactivity, be it in packaging, food & beverage, or others applications. eWON Cosy 131 is the perfect compact and cost-efficient machine remote access answer.

The complexity of connecting remote equipment has increased while the technology has evolved from traditional modems to the Internet. "The dream quickly turns into nightmare when it comes to firewall and strict IT policies within the factory floor," adds Bassem. The eWON Cosy lets maintenance engineers establish a secure VPN connection from the machine to anywhere via Talk2M, eWON´s cloud-based remote connectivity solution. The router seamlessly communicates on the local area network with the PLC and the HMI, and allows remote connection from anywhere with a simple laptop, tablet or smartphone. "The eWON Cosy solution does not require any involvement of the IT and that really makes the difference for our customers! ", concludes Bassem.

Connecting industrial equipment to the Internet has been eWON´s job since the beginning in 2001. In 13 years, the remote access technology has evolved from traditional landlines to Internet with LAN, cellular, and wireless connections. To cope with this evolution, the new eWON Cosy 131 offers the versatility to connect using LAN, WiFi and 3G connection options. "Offering various connection options is highly appreciated by the machine builder who can deploy more easily by picking the right connection technology," explains Serge Bassem, CEO of eWON.
