22mm compact metal 440P limit switches offer international-
style solutions for both safety and standard sensing applications

Rockwell Automation has added additional switches to the Allen-Bradley 440P limit switch family. The new additions to the product family are rugged metal-bodied models in a compact 22mm housing.

The 22mm compact metal 440P limit switches offer economical international-style solutions for both safety and standard sensing applications. These new limit switches are ideal for a variety of applications, including material handling, packaging, elevators, escalators, scissor lifts, industrial trucks and tractors, cranes and hoists, overhead doors, and general safety guarding applications.

The new 440P limit switches are cost-effective, and have been designed for ease of installation in applications where space is limited. In addition, the limit switches feature positive opening-action contacts for safety applications and slotted 20 - 25mm mounting holes to allow for various mounting options. The limit switches are also suitable for Category 3 or 4 systems when used with a safety monitoring relay or safety controller.

The expansion of the range consists of 14 new part numbers with a broad selection of operator types, including dome, roller and cross roller plunger, as well as short lever. All styles, except the level model, are available with panel mount threading. Two cable configurations are offered to optimise fit in tight spaces, in bottom cable style and side cable style options.

These models feature painted metal bodies and meet NEMA 1 standards, as well as IP66 and IP67 (pollution degree 3). They are CE marked for all applicable directives, UL recognised and TÜV approved.

The 440P limit switch family now comprises four different body styles - 30mm metal, 22mm metal, 22mm plastic and 15mm plastic. The models also include a broad selection of operator types, circuit arrangements and connection options, which made the range ideal for a wide variety of applications.

Swinghandles for corrosive situations accept UK and Euro padlocks

Padlock versions of EMKA's popular 1107 and 1125 Swinghandles and of their slim line 2100 programme are designed to make life easier for specifiers/designers, fabricators and operators of specialist enclosures where a padlocking facility is required in corrosive environments. Use of stainless steel padlockable through-pillars, with reinforced polyamide bodies, offer a simple to fit solution as part of the structured EMKA system. These items compliment the EMKA L-handle in stainless steel with padlock capability, the quarter-turn key lock and its sister wing-handle, which all accept standard UK hasps of 3/16" to 3/8". European padlock sizes of 4.5mm to 10mm are accommodated with appropriate variants.

Refer to picture: Padlock versions of EMKA's popular 1107 and 1125 Swinghandles.

The ability to padlock cabinets with one or more locks for safety and security is an increasingly important consideration, especially where high voltages or otherwise dangerous or sensitive equipment is housed. For example, electrical/electronic equipment in industrial process, offshore, HVAC, medical, food and automotive industries where simple operation and sealing up to IP65 is also valuable.

Whatever the size of cabinet there is an EMKA padlocking handle to suit, with or without standard cylinder locks or to Ford specification. Finish is in black polyamide, black epoxy, chrome or plain stainless to suit the application and to operate the many single point or multiple point lever locking systems which EMKA offer. Simple and safe filtration with new remote-action duplex filter

Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has developed an innovative duplex filter system in a wide range of industrial applications, designed to improve both safety and filtration performance considerably. The new EADPF iprotect® filter incorporates Parker's hydraulic solenoid valve technology, making it possible to switch between filters remotely, and optimising productivity as a result.

While conventional duplex filters require the main duplex valve and equalizing line to be manually operated, the new Parker EADPF
iprotect® filter improves safety and efficiency by making remote operation possible. Furthermore, this process can be fully automated, cutting maintenance requirements and minimising machine downtime as a result.

When one filter element becomes contaminated, the in-built filter condition indicator sends a signal to the duplex valve unit, telling it to switch to the other filter with a clean element. This enables effective filtration to continue without the need for manual intervention. At the same time, a warning signal is provided to the local overall system controller, informing the operator that the contaminated filter element requires replacement. Routine maintenance can then be carried out at the most convenient time.

The Parker EADPF iprotect® filter improves safety / filtration.

To avoid excessive pressure peaks when putting the new, unused filter element in operation, an equalizing line is automatically activated before the duplex valve is switched over. This eliminates the risk of human error associated with carrying out this process manually, ensuring safety and avoiding damage to system components and seals, which can result in costly maintenance and downtime for vital process equipment.

The new EADPF
iprotect® filter is fully compatible with Parker's patented filter elements, for proven effective filtration, and is backed by the company's global supply and support network.
