Hazardex 2016 Conference & Exhibition goes
down a storm - bigger and better promised for 2017

The Hazardex 2016 Conference & Exhibition for hazardous area and process safety specialists, which took place on February 24 and 25 in Runcorn, Cheshire, has been given a resounding vote of confidence. By early March, 100% of the large proportion of attendees who provided feedback had rated the event 'good, 'very good' or 'excellent'.

The Conference & Exhibition aims to strengthen and expand the community that looks to the Hazardex website and journal for industry intelligence and information, and the 2016 event seems to have achieved this across the board.

Compared with the last event in 2014, the conference programme was a third longer and delegate numbers were also up by a third. Special praise was reserved for the quality of the presentations and the positive and focused atmosphere throughout, with the efficient organisation also gaining plaudits.

George Petrie, Human Resources Engineer at Total E&P UK and a speaker at the conference, said: "We really enjoyed the conference, and I think our safety engineers would benefit from going to the next one."

Exhibitors were up 32% on 2014 and exhibition visitor numbers increased by 36%. A large majority of exhibitors expressed satisfaction with the quality of contacts they had made, to the extent that 75% had rebooked for next year's event before the show closed.

Alan Mellows, Managing Director of R Stahl UK and an exhibitor, said: "Feedback from my team, who have been to many shows, was that you got it just right for us. Right people, right time."

We aim to do even better in 2017 and will be putting together an even stronger conference programme over the next few months. Next year's event will be taking place at the same venue, the Holiday Inn Hotel in Runcorn on March 2 and 3, 2017.

If you would like to become involved, contact Event Director Russell Goater who can provide details of presentation opportunities, sponsoring and exhibiting packages, and conference and exhibition attendance.

And finally, a big thank you to all the attendees at Hazardex 2016 for helping make the event so special. See you next year

The Hazardex website provides news on events of interest to the hazardous areas community including failures of containment, plant explosions and related incidents, regulatory issues, safety news and much else, updated on a daily basis.

The Hazardex App is free to download from the Apple and Android stores, and gives access to all journal and website content.

The Hazardex Conference & Exhibition is an annual two-day event, attracting up to 400 senior high hazard and process industry attendees and offering a consistently high level of conference presentations and workshops.
